Barb Yackel
Barb YackelCamp Founder
Barb is a PSA Master rated coach who has dedicated her life’s work to coaching hockey players and figure skaters. For the past 10 years, she has been a director of the Professional Skaters Association (PSA), the national body for skating coaches’ accreditation across the U.S. Barb is a former Upper Great Lakes Champion and national competitor. “There is no feeling like helping young people grow and develop their skills, work ethic, heart, determination and respect for others in athletics and in life.”
Corey McGinn
Corey McGinnCamp Director
Corey has been the assistant coach of the South St Paul Girls Varsity hockey team for the past 4 years. After taking to the ice at the tender age of 2, Corey’s grit, determination and love of the game lead him to numerous Minnesota Select and Premier teams and a high school hockey career at South St Paul. With his unique passion for teaching and developing young players, Corey has already held many coaching positions, including his current role.

THE YACKEL NAME

The Yackel name is synonymous with Minnesota hockey. Ken Yackel was the pioneer of hockey schools and camps in the Upper Midwest.  His coaching philosophy and techniques to develop and benefit young hockey players are carried on by Ken’s daughter Barb, founder of the GIRL POWER HOCKEY CAMP, and her son Corey.
